May 2017: Fans Meeting *VIDEO*

Last night’s TrustSTFC Fans Meeting brought Town fans together at a local Swindon venue to discuss the County Ground bid and the future of the club.

The day had started with the Swindon Advertiser revealing that we had reached out to former Swindon Town Chief Executive Nick Watkins, asking for advice on our plans to buy the County Ground.

In the evening, we had 100 plus people in attendance for the second meeting running.

Over 100 fans came along to the meeting

We were happy with those numbers considering it was a very hot and sunny day, and also many football fans were interested in watching Manchester United in the Europa League Final.

The evening was focused on the County Ground, which remains our sole immediate aim, but also talked about the wider trend in football of supporters getting involved and running their own clubs.

Thank you to everyone that came along, and also the local companies that supported us on the evening:

Thanks to the MECA and Swindon PA Hire for providing the venue, and audio visual equipment free of charge

So what happens next?

The message taken away from the meeting was – please back us – we need your support.

The local media were out in force and we also had coverage on BBC TV in the West and South regions (including Oxford)

We’ve since had coverage in the Swindon Advertiser with two articles online shortly after the event:

and Trust Chairman Steve Mytton was on BBC Wiltshire this evening to discuss how things went.

Please get in touch if you have any questions or ideas, we would love to hear from you.

Finally, we were asked to promote the Crowd Funder being run by local Swindon Town fans towards a blue plaque for Swindon Town’s first Manager, Sam Allen.
