Since 2010

Inconsistent form left Swindon in mid-table for much of the 2010/11 season and

when top scorer Charlie Austin was sold the team did not win again for 19 matches.

Manager Danny Wilson resigned, and Swindon were relegated to League Two.

Soon after the season ended, Paolo Di Canio would take his first management position.

Swindon enjoyed success in both the FA Cup, beating Premiership side

Wigan Athletic in the third round, and reached the

Johnstone’s Paint Trophy (JPT) final at Wembley,

where they were runners-up to League One side Chesterfield.

Swindon Town are crowned champions

The following season, in February 2013, with Swindon riding high in League One

and in contention for a second consecutive promotion, Di Canio announced his resignation.

In May 2015, the Town found themselves at Wembley once again, for the League 1 play-off final

against Preston, which they sadly lost 4-0.
