New Autism Matchday Sensory Packs – TrustSTFC

New Autism Matchday Sensory Packs

TrustSTFC is delighted to announce, with the support of Swindon Town FC and The Football Supporters Association, that Matchday Sensory Packs are now available for young supporters living with autism.

The packs include a lanyard, fidget spinner, ear defenders, stress ball, and a pop-it tray inside a branded drawstring bag, and will be available from this Saturday’s home fixture (12th March) against Oldham via the Club Shop at The County Ground.

These packs have been designed to improve the matchday experience, and are part of both the Trust and club’s commitment to making STFC more accessible, comfortable and friendly to all.

We would ask the parent or guardian of any fan requiring a sensory pack to get in touch with the club store via shop@swindontownfc.co.uk to pre-book theirs, and to collect at least one hour before kick-off.

The club has also agreed that fans living with autism can now enter the stadium via disabled access points.

TrustSTFC Membership Secretary, Keith Coatsworth, commented: “It’s been great for the Trust to be involved in delivering this project to support greater inclusivity at the County Ground. Sensory Packs were first raised and recommended by one of our members earlier this season, and just goes to show what working effectively and collaboratively with members and the club can achieve. Our thanks also to The FSA who have made a financial contribution towards these packs.”

The FSA helped to fund our Sensory Packs through their Fans for Diversity programme, which is run in partnership with Kick It Out.

Once supporters have received their pack, they are encouraged to continue to bring it back with them to all future games they attend. There are a limited number of packs available, which will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
