Swindon Town vs Sutton United: Match Preview

We are back at SN1 on Tuesday night under the lights in the middle of March for this oh so important clash at the top of the table between Swindon Town and Sutton United.

Swindon Town will be looking for back-to-back league wins and six wins in the last eight while Sutton United will be looking for more positives after a stellar debut season in the football league.

We were made to wait till the dying embers of the game on Saturday and was it Karma, was it redemption or rejuvenation or all of the above. In all honesty who cares, the three points was all the mattered. It happened in true STFC manner with a late goal. A speciality in recent weeks, after Jack Payne winner at Bradford the previous Saturday. It fell to club captain Dion Conroy to head home from an Ellis Iandolo free kick to give Swindon Town a much needed three points over John Sheridan Oldham Athletic. I think the club captain enjoyed the winner with his celebration in front of the town end and a gesture or two at the previous management in the away dug out.

Ben Garner in his pre-match press conference today confirmed that Louie Barry and Joe Tomlinson are ahead of schedule and could be back in a couple of weeks. Ben Gladwin is going for a scan on his hamstring injury. A mystery player did not train today and could miss out tomorrow, Harry McKirdy is back from his two-match suspension.
