It is the game that most Swindon Town fans have been looking forward to, it is the return of John Sheridan to the County Ground as his Oldham Athletic side are the visitors to SN1 this Saturday.
After the absolute high of Saturday away at Bradford with Jack Payne last minute penalty and the joy it brought from the away end. It was the low on Tuesday night with a predictable defeat away at fellow promotion chasers Exeter City. The realism struck before Tuesday night game with the injuries and suspension that hit the club in the aftermath of the win at Bradford, a win that massively came at a price.
You still must realise and without the twitter meltdown that always seems to happen when Swindon Town lose recently, that in the last six games the club has picked up four wins and two defeats. It is a decent run that the club has gone on after the Tranmere Rovers debacle. Twelve points from the last eighteen is not to be sniffed at.
Ben Garner confirmed in his pre-match presser today, it looks like it will be the same squad that was picked for Tuesday will be picked for tomorrow’s clash against Oldham. Ben Gladwin and Louie Barry are going for more scans and should be back soon. The good news after two substitution appearances and two goals, Jack Payne could start tomorrow which could be a blessing in disguise.

Oldham Athletic are the visitors to the County Ground on Saturday afternoon, the Latics are embroiled in a relegation battle at the bottom of the football league. Oldham Athletic have picked up thirty-one points from a possible thirty-three games.
They are seven points clear of Scunthorpe United who are rock bottom. For Oldham Athletic they have two games in hand over Scunthorpe United and could stetch that points gap even further ahead and draw in third bottom Barrow AFC into the reckoning. Barrow are third bottom with thirty-three points from thirty-four games.
Since John Sheridan took over in tough times for the club, the fortunes on the pitch have changed. Thirteen points from a possible twenty-four has taken Oldham Athletic closer to safety. Three wins, four draws and one defeat. The sole defeat was in a relegation scrap as Carlisle United won 2-1 thanks to a 94th minute winner from Morgan Feeney. The three wins have come against Scunthorpe United, Bristol Rovers and Bradford City. The four draws were a 0-0 at home to Rochdale, a crazy 3-3 away draw at Newport County and back-to-back draws away at Colchester United and Crawley Town.
