Who are you?
I live in swindon within an hours walk of the county ground with my wife and 2 student children. I enjoy following town around the country, a decent pint of real ale and going to heavy metal gigs.

What’s your job?
I’m currently the finance and it director of a diverse group of companies based in gloucester.

How long have you been a fan of swindon town?
I’ve been a season ticket holder in the don rodgers since we moved here in 2006.

I originally grew up in worcester and although I played a lot of football, I was primarily a cricket fan following hick, botham and co around the country on a sunday for the 40 over competition. It wasn’t until I went to university in 1992 and shared a house with a couple of swindon fans that I started to become interested in watching football.

I didn’t start going to matches until 2001, seeing wins at both oxford and reading as well as neal ruddock’s shorts were particular highlights that season.

Why have you joined the board of swindon town supporters’ trust?
I’ve been a member of the trust for a number of years now and I just want to help really and volunteer my services. I would have liked to have got more actively involved earlier but work and family commitments didn’t allow it.

What expertise do you think you are able to offer?
Having worked in the uk commercial real estate sector for over 20 years I hope that I can help with the county ground purchase and subsequent development in some way.

What is your vision for swindon town’s football team on the pitch?
We shouldn’t be in league 2, but I don’t think I would want us to be in the premier league again either, as it’s not really football for the fans and the social aspect is important to me. I’d like to see us in the championship developing our own local talent and a 25k stadium.

What’s been your proudest moment as a swindon town fan?
We’ve had a few promotions and even 2 tiles in recent years, but I think it was the 4-3 win at premier league stoke. It was the first game that we attended as a family and the winning goal was scored right in front of us. Following that game my daughter got a season ticket and we have travelled to many away games as a family.

Who has been your favourite swindon player and manager?
Just for the entertainment on and off the pitch, paolo di canio is my favourite manager. A lot of managers are fairly subdued and scripted in interviews, but I can still recall many of di canio’s, including his rottweiler/chihuahua analogy and his comments about steve evans, with a smile.
His goal celebration at northampton was also a unique, unforgettable moment.

We’ve had some cracking players down the years and enjoyed the auston/paynter partnership when they both seemed to score every game. However, simon cox is still the player I looked forward to watching the most. He was always capable of the spectacular and his goal against walsall at the county ground on a cold tuesday night will be difficult to better

What’s your vision for swindon town?
In the long term a championship club with a full 25k stadium every week and a team built around local talent developed through the academy with strong links to its supporters, local community and businesses.
It’s great that the trust will be involved in owning and developing the county ground. This means that we are far more able to ensure that supporters needs are met, not only in terms of facilities but also by putting the right structures in place to protect it for generations to come.
