Invest in the future redevelopment of our stadium
Please tell me more?
At the end of March 2023 Swindon Town FC and TrustSTFC in a joint 50/50 agreement took ownership of the County Ground from Swindon Borough Council, the historical home of Swindon Town FC.
This could not have happened without the support of lifelong Swindon Town Fan Nigel Eady and the Nigel Eady Trust.
Now we have purchased the County Ground, the work really begins on turning the ground into a modern facility for fans to be proud of and ensure we maximise the fan experience. As well as providing modern facilities for fans and the local community, we also want to support the football club to help make the club more sustainable financially through ensuring the ground and its facilities are used a great deal more outside of match days and can be ones we are all proud of.
In doing this we will provide modern facilities which will support the Swindon community, providing a greater fan experience on match days, as well as helping the club raise additional income off the field to support the football clubs aim of becoming financially sustainable which will cement the long-term future of our football club.
What can I do to support this as a fan?
We want to support the full redevelopment of the County Ground and play our part as fans in investing in the future redevelopment of the stadium on an equal footing with the football club, this will enable us to deliver a stadium and facilities we as fans can be proud of.
To support the ongoing re-development of the County Ground, TrustSTFC have launched the County Ground Community Fund (#CGCM).
We are therefore asking supporters to pledge a regular amount on a monthly basis, and commit to that for years to come, but we are of course conscious of the cost-of living challenges out there. Ultimately we want people to donate whatever they can comfortably afford, and to do that whenever they can.
The County Ground Community Fund is simply a separate bank account managed by the Trust and as we are a registered and regulated community society, we can take donations in a legal and tax-efficient way.
The CG Fund has a restricted use and any donations to the Community Fund can only be spent on developing the County Ground and surrounding area.
Why should I get involved Now?
The work starts with the Joint Venture board in early May 2023 on planning, prioritising and delivering the County Ground Redevelopment plans and so we are keen to get as many fans supporting the CGCM so you can all be part of this with your regular donations. The more regular donations we can obtain from supporters, the more active role we can play on helping deliver the CG redevelopment work and ultimately the better this can be, and quicker this can occur.
How do I setup a regular donation to the County Ground Community Fund?
You can setup a regular monthly donation to the #CGCM in whatever amount per month you can comfortably afford, please goto http://www.countygroundfund.com/ and click one of the monthly amount buttons to set this monthly pledge up.
Thank you for your ongoing support…
