Funding the Purchase

Following the death of Nigel Eady in January 2012, the lifelong fan left a considerable legacy to Swindon Town, with the stipulation that it be used for the long-term benefit of the Club and community. The Nigel Eady Trust has previously supported projects such as the development of Foundation Park and discussions with them have been taking place since those very first meetings in 2015 as to how they could best support the County Ground acquisition.

TrustSTFC and the Club are delighted that the Trustees are committed to funding the purchase of the County Ground through the Joint Venture, subject to legal approval of proposed arrangements.

Nigel was a huge Swindon Town supporter who recognised the impact which it has on the wider community. It’s difficult to think of a more fitting legacy that through his Trust, the future of the County Ground has been secured. On behalf of all supporters of Swindon Town, we honour Nigel’s contribution and thank his Trustees for their significant support.
