TrustSTFC have been working with Fair Game Directors and STFC to support the signup of the football club to the Fair Game Initiative.
Fair Game is a growing series of football clubs striving to change the game for the better, including striving for Fairness, Sustainability and Success in the game for the greater good and wider interests of football.
The football club and TrustSTFC are passionate about supporting and lobbying government and authorities for improvements in football fairness and sustainability and doing all we can to support Fair Game in driving this forward. Football is in crisis in the UK. Covid has devastated the finances of so many lower league clubs, and left dozens on the brink of survival. Yet, the game remains the richest sport in the UK. It is time to reboot the game and Fair Game bringing together clubs to call for change.
TrustSTFC and STFC will be working with Fair Game to play an active part in various important initiatives to support driving for positive change in the game we all love.

Robins announce partnership with Fair Game
Swindon Town joins 34 other professional football clubs to improve sustainability…
Swindon Town Football Club are delighted to join a movement that is hoping to change the governance of football in England and Wales.
The Robins have officially joined Fair Game which is a group of 34 like-minded professional football clubs in England and Wales and the partnership will be supported by Swindon Town Supporters Trust (TrustSTFC), who will be working with the club and Fair Game on supporting and delivering relevant initiatives.
Fair Game is working with a team of over 40 world-renowned experts to find long-term solutions to issues around the game, including protecting the heritage of clubs, a fairer distribution of TV revenues, opposing the European Super League, and tackling discrimination.
Central to Fair Game’s demands is a Sustainability Index which looks at reallocating the parachute payments to clubs throughout the football pyramid that are run well. The organisation also has the backing of several leading politicians, including the Shadow Culture Secretary for sport Lucy Powell, the mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, and the former Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron. It has also been working closely with the government on the introduction of a new independent football regulator.
Swindon Town Football Club, CEO, Rob Angus said: “Football is at a crossroads. The arrival of the regulator represents a huge opportunity for football to change. We need a game that is more sustainable. A game that looks at helping the entire pyramid.
“Fair Game have made great strides over the last two years in giving clubs lower down the pyramid a voice and we want to be part of that.”
James Spencer, Co-Vice Chair of TrustSTFC commented: “We are delighted that the club have decided to sign up to Fair Game and we will be working hard with Rob Angus and the Fair Game team to really drive positive improvements for the club, as well as contributing to the wider initiatives with the other clubs’ part of the fair game family for the benefit of football generally”..
